There have been great moves to protect the heritage of provenance of foods like Parma Ham and Champagne over the years and it’s good to know you’re buying the real thing. At Countryside Ski & Climb we’ve always supported brands that have an undisputed heritage behind them. Sherpa Adventure Gear is one that’s particularly hard to beat because the people from which it takes its name are the very same it uses to test its gear and whose community its revenue supports.
Nepal is also where the vast majority of the product is made; a success story founded by the nephew of the last surviving Sherpa from the first summit of Everest by Hillary and his team in 1953. Getting back to heritage food though, in another topic close to our hearts we thought it our duty to spread the word that The British Pie Awards for 2013 are being held in Melton Mowbray today. Good luck to all who enter.
